Our Community thanks you for your donation!

By supporting Jazz Lives Philadelphia, you help cultivate the next generation of jazz musicians and advocates. Your donation encourages and fosters music education in the Philadelphia schools. Through our education initiatives, students are exposed to the various elements of jazz such as blues and swing. Our educational initiatives include masterclasses, workshops, and concerts for children of all ages and performance levels. We strive to reach students both inside and outside the band room, schools with and without music programs and bring them the highest quality music education experience. In addition to teaching music and history through jazz, we recognize the parallels between jazz music and everyday life and teach students hands on how they can apply these parallels to their own lives.

By supporting JLP, you help foster and grow the tradition of a truly American art form. Jazz is music that transcends differences and brings people together through the common thread of humanity. By spreading the joy of jazz, we bring people together and keep the true spirit of jazz alive in Philadelphia.

"Jazz Lives Philadelphia is a vital new organization programming concerts that reposition the spotlight on jazz in Philadelphia. It serves to showcase the legacy of this definitively American art form in an historically jazz-rich city by presenting it with integrity to a broader audience and aggressively introducing it to young people. Philadelphia, the birthplace of Benny Golson and Lee Morgan, will benefit greatly from the work of these young and dedicated patriots."

-Wynton Marsalis, Managing & Artistic Director, Jazz at Lincoln Center

"It was an absolute pleasure having Jazz Lives Philadelphia come in and run a master class at our high school. The interactive program promoting jazz education was phenomenal. They were professional, passionate, charismatic, and great musicians. I highly recommend schools of all performance levels to inquire. It is such a great program this organization is offering to younger musicians."

-Ryan Roemer, Head of Instrumental Music at The Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush
